In the evening, McGill University and the Schulich School of Music invite OPERA America’s Ambassadors for a cocktail dînatoire in the Elizabeth Wirth Music Building. Opened in 2005, this state-of-the-art facility houses the symphonic-sized Music Multimedia Room, the Wirth Opera Studio, the Marvin Duchow Music Library and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology, as well as performance halls and classrooms. Senior members of the University community and the School’s Faculty Advisory Board will join us for food, drinks and tours of Canada’s leading university-based music school. The event is followed by the world premiere of The Trials of Patricia Isasa (8:00 p.m. – 10:15 p.m.) by Montréal’s leading new works producer, Chants Libres.

 OPERA America advocates on a wide range of issues that impact your company’s operations and funding, including support for the National Endowment for the Arts, tax policy for nonprofits, visa processing at USCIS and labor regulations. Join OPERA America’s director of government affairs, Brandon Gryde, to learn how to better engage your company in arts advocacy, be a voice for advocacy in your organization and engage your co-workers, board members and artists. This breakfast session is for Government Affairs (GA) Liaisons who represent their companies, those who wish to become GA Liaisons for their companies and others who would like to engage further in advocacy for the opera field.

Before the opening night curtain of Opéra de Montréal’s Lilies, Ambassadors will convene for a farewell dinner at Brasserie T!, the sister bistro by the founders of Toqué! Only steps from the opera house and with views of the stunning fountains of Place des Arts through its unique glass walls, this intimate restaurant offers the true French classics.

Following the performance, Ambassadors and conference-goers are invited to join the cast and company for a private post-performance reception (10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.).
